It started as a complaint, not a business plan
In 2013 three licensed contractors β a plumber, an electrician and a carpenter who kept ending up on the same renovation sites β noticed they were hearing an identical complaint from almost every homeowner they met. It was never about price. It was that the last contractor had not turned up, or had quoted one number and invoiced another, or had disappeared two-thirds of the way through a job and stopped answering.
That is a strange problem for an industry to have, because none of it is difficult. Turning up on the agreed day is not a specialist skill. Writing a quote that matches the final invoice is not a technological breakthrough. The three of them started taking overflow work together on the understanding that they would simply do those basic things reliably, and the referrals came faster than they could handle them.
Get Home Experts grew out of that overflow. Today it is a vetted network of licensed crews across ten trades, coordinated centrally so a homeowner books once and gets the right specialist rather than the nearest available person. The founders still review the standards every technician is held to, and still read the complaints.
Nobody reaches your door without clearing four checks
Most of what goes wrong in home services goes wrong before the work starts β with who was sent. This is the part we are strictest about.
Licence verification
Every technician's trade licence is checked against the issuing authority and re-verified each renewal cycle. An expired licence pulls someone off the roster until it is current again β no exceptions, no grace period.
Insurance confirmation
Liability cover is confirmed directly with the insurer rather than accepted as a certificate by email. If something is damaged in your home, the cover behind it is real and current.
Background screening
A criminal background check clears before anyone is assigned their first job. These are people entering homes where families live, and the standard reflects that.
Skills review
A working assessment with a senior tradesperson in the same discipline. Licences prove eligibility; they do not prove craftsmanship. Somebody who does the work daily makes that call.
Four promises we would want made to us
These are not marketing lines. They are the operating rules the network is held to, and the reasons a technician gets removed from it.
The quote is the price
You approve a flat figure before work begins. If something genuinely unexpected appears behind a wall, work stops and you decide β nothing is ever added to an invoice without your say-so.
We say when repair beats replacement
Our technicians are not paid on what they sell. If a roof needs a flashing repair rather than a replacement, or an appliance needs a forty-dollar part, that is what you will be told.
One point of contact
Multi-trade projects get a single project lead who sequences the crews and answers your questions. You never mediate between two contractors blaming each other.
We come back if it fails
Ninety days of workmanship guarantee on every job. If a repair does not hold, a crew returns and corrects it at no cost β no argument about whose fault it was.
Ten trades, coordinated centrally
Booking once matters more than it sounds. Most household problems are two problems wearing a trench coat β a leak is also a drying job, a roof failure is also a ceiling repair. One booking keeps those in the same hands.
Plumbing
Burst pipes, stubborn clogs and water heaters β sorted by a licensed plumber, same day.

Every piece of work we complete carries a ninety-day workmanship guarantee. If a repair fails within that window, a crew returns and puts it right at no charge β and it does not have to be the same technician if you would rather it were not.
The guarantee covers our workmanship. Parts and materials additionally carry whatever the manufacturer offers, and where we supply them we handle that claim for you rather than handing you a phone number. Sending someone back costs us money, which is exactly why the vetting at the front is as strict as it is.
What homeowners tell us afterwards
Reported a burst pipe on a Sunday night and had a plumber at the door within the hour. Fixed, cleaned up, and the price matched the quote exactly.
Our kitchen designer actually listened to how we cook before drawing anything up. Three months on it's the room we spend the most time in.
Booked the deep clean before family came to stay. The crew was thorough, fast, and didn't try to upsell me on anything I didn't need.
A ceiling leak turned into a full restoration job. They documented every reading and photo for the insurer, which made the claim far less painful than I expected.
Two other companies told me the roof needed replacing. These people photographed it, showed me the flashing, and repaired it for a fraction of the price.
The HVAC technician found a crushed duct run instead of just selling me a new unit. One room that was always cold finally is not.
Things people ask before booking
Emergency requests are dispatched around the clock and most get a technician on site within a couple of hours. Send the booking form and mark it urgent, and it goes to the front of the queue.
Yes β every technician in the network is licensed for their trade, insured, and background-checked before taking their first job with us.
Always. We confirm a flat price before any work begins, and there is no obligation to book after you receive a quote.
Flat-rate for defined jobs, hourly for open-ended diagnostic visits. Either way the rate is agreed before the visit, and anything discovered mid-job is discussed with you before it is added.
Yes, and it is usually cheaper. Tell us everything on the list when you book and we sequence the trades so they are not waiting on each other.
Every job is backed by our workmanship guarantee β if something is not right, we send a crew back to correct it at no extra charge.
Put us to the test on one job
Start with something small if you would rather. Most of our long-term clients did exactly that.
